Colistin Sulfate

Antibiotic, produced by polymyxobacterium, has a strong antibacterial effect on gram-negative bacteria, used for the treatment of intestinal diseases caused by gram-negative bacteria.  Mycolistin sulfate is used to penetrate bacterial cell membranes and mannose for anticoagulation and some Chemicalbook studies of antibiotic resistance in organisms such as Bowman.  It has also been used to study hephrotoxicity, MIC value against Pseudomonas aeruginosa, time killing kinetics, and post-antibiotic effect (PAE) in rat kidneys.
