Decision on mixing of Covid vaccines may take more time

India may take some more time to decide on allowing mixing of Convid vaccines.

The CMC Vellore, which presented its data before National Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation(NTAGI) this month, has been asked to condunt neutralising antibody tests to help them get better clarity on whether the same dosewhen given as booster works better or mixing of vaccines will yield better results.

Winsley Rose, the principal investigator of CMC Cellore study, said by next month they will know which booster and combination works better. “We have already presented our data before NTAGI and they have asked us to come up with some more results. We are wating for those resultes.”, he said.
Rose said CMC vellore will conduct surrogate neutralisation in the next few weeks. “As soon as the tests are ready, we will submit it to the drug Controller General of India as well as share it with NTAGI”, he said.
